What's included in the Local Presence Plan for Cat Sitters
Part of our Local Presence Plan. Six things, every month: 1. Your Google Business Profile, set up properly. We fill in and tidy your profile so it says clearly what you do, where you are and when you're open. 2. Behind-the-scenes code on your website. We add structured data (schema). It's hidden code that tells Google and AI tools your name, address, hours and services in a form they can read. 3. The same details everywhere. We check your Google Maps pin and make your name, address and phone number match across the main directories. 4. Help with reviews. You get ready-made templates for asking for reviews and replying to them, and a simple plan for getting more. We never write reviews for you. 5. A short weekly report. Every week you get the three most important fixes, in plain words. 6. One local LinkedIn post a week. We write one post a week for your business page.
For a cat sitter, that means your visit types, the areas you cover, your prices and how to book a meet-and-greet are clear and match everywhere owners look. Doesn't include paid ads. Why fill in the form: The score shows whether an owner planning a trip away can see quickly that you cover their area and how to book you.

What your customers ask AI tools
- "cat sitter for twice-daily visits in Crouch End"
- "someone near me to give my cat insulin while I am away"
- "cat sitter who sends photos after each visit"
- "overnight house sitter near me for an anxious cat"
- "how do cat sitters handle house keys"
- "cat sitter available over Christmas in Walthamstow"
How cat owners choose a sitter
Google Business Profile as a service-area business
Set your service area to the postcode districts you reach reliably and hide your home address. In towns and cities, sitters often travel on foot, by bike or by bus, so the honest area is often smaller than a whole council area.
Reviews that answer "will my cat be safe?"
Ask owners to mention how their cat was on return, how updates arrived and how keys were handled. Never reward reviews.
Services owners search for
If you groom dogs too, see dog grooming marketing for salons and mobile groomers, or read about marketing a dog walking business.
Daily and twice-daily home visits
Describe what a visit includes: feeding, fresh water, litter, play and a check on the home, plus how long you stay.
Medication, senior cats and special diets
State exactly which care you give, such as tablets or insulin, and how you agree instructions with the owner and their vet. No vet or medical claims.
Holiday cover and overnight house sitting
If you stay overnight, explain what that involves and how it differs from visits. Some sitters also walk dogs on the same rounds; our guide to marketing a dog walking business covers that side.
Trust signals cat owners check
Licensing: when cat sitting needs a licence (and when it does not)
GOV.UK statutory guidance on the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 says businesses looking after a cat in its owner's home, such as cat sitters, do not need a licence (see the GOV.UK guidance).
[H4] Home visits are not licensable; boarding cats away from home is Boarding cats as a business needs a council licence. This page covers home visits only, so never write "fully licensed". Rules outside England were not checked.
Insurance, key handling and background checks
Mention insurance or a DBS check only if you actually hold them. Describe your key policy: labels without addresses, secure storage and return on completion.
Bookings and repeat clients
Meet-and-greet visits before the first booking
A first visit lets you meet the cat, learn routines and collect keys. Say whether it is required.
Holiday peaks: booking early for summer and Christmas
Tell regular clients when your holiday diary opens and whether you keep a waiting list.
Why cat sitters work with us (Pitch Lead; bold lead-in, not a heading) 1. Trust is the whole sale, so we only state what's true. Insurance, DBS checks, pet first aid and licences appear only if you hold them and can show them. 2. We describe your care, not promises. There's no "safe" or "guaranteed care" language, only what a visit includes and how you keep owners updated. 3. Your area, stated honestly. For home-visit sitters, we set up a service area on Google, not a fake address. 4. Honest reviews only. Templates and a plan, and we never write reviews. Why fill in the form: Free and quick. You'll see what a nervous owner sees before they hand over their keys.
Who you'll be working with (RTBs; real proof only)
Why fill in the form: You don't have to take our word for any of this. The score gives you something concrete to judge us by.

- More than 20 years in digital marketing, after starting out in design and visual storytelling and then an MBA. Integrated.Social was founded in 2014.
- Our rule: AI tools help us draft, and a person checks and signs off.
- Published prices and terms. What the plan costs and how to stop are on the plan page, not hidden in a call.
- Honest about what we can't promise. No one controls what Google or AI tools show, so we don't promise positions, enquiries or dates.

Clear answers
Questions local business owners ask
What do cat owners need to know before booking a sitter?
Cat sitting marketing comes down to trust: owners are handing over their house keys and their cat. We explain your home visits clearly, from visit length to medication and key handling, and keep your service area, availability and booking process consistent across Google, your website and AI tools, so the right local owners book.
Is a council licence required for cat sitting?
For visits in the cat's own home, GOV.UK guidance says no licence is needed in England. Boarding cats away from their home as a business does need a council licence. We check your services against the current guidance before anything is published, and we never write fully licensed for home visits.
How should we explain key handling?
Write it down: how keys are collected, how they are labelled without the owner's address, where they are kept and when they are returned. A clear key policy answers the first worry most owners have, and it gives search engines and AI tools something concrete to describe.
Can we advertise giving medication?
Only describe what you are genuinely trained and willing to do, such as tablets or insulin injections, and how you agree instructions with the owner and their vet. Avoid health claims. Clear limits protect cats and reassure owners that you will not take on care you cannot provide.
Why offer a meet-and-greet first?
It lets you meet the cat, learn feeding and litter routines, check where medication is kept and collect keys in person. Owners feel more confident, and you avoid surprises on the first visit. We make the meet-and-greet step visible on your site and booking page so owners expect it.
I visit cats in their own homes. What should my Google profile show instead of an address?
If owners don't come to you, set your Google Business Profile up as a service-area business. That means hiding your home address and showing the towns or postcodes you cover. Only list areas you genuinely travel to. We set this up for you and keep your business name and phone number the same across your website and the main directories.
